Whether they are entrepreneurs like Tyra or CEO of eBay Meg Whitman, a government leader like Senator Obama, a race-car driver like Danika, a labor movement leader like Sra. Huerta, or Early Childhood Education enthusiasts like The Wiggles, these trailblazers all share in the pursuit of passion rather than tradition for their careers. R.A.V.E about your Future! is a tuition/cost-free experiential learning program designed for students currently in grades 7 th & 8 th interested in exploring nontraditional careers: those where one gender comprises less than 25% of those employed. Activities for students include an interest inventory, interactive workshops, opportunities to connect to individuals pursuing nontraditional careers, and leadership development. Parents will also participate in informative workshops on the in-demand careers, relevant student development/support services in the area, and issues of educational equity. All student participants are required to attend both Saturday sessions. Each regional site will be in collaboration with a local school district or community organization in partnership with the Nontraditional Career Resource Center . This program and all programs of the NCRC are funded by the New Jersey Department of Education. Interested in hosting R.A.V.E about your Future! in your area?
